Jorgelina E. Araneda has more than 18 years of experience in handling federal criminal defense. This includes white-collar crime, drug trafficking, immigration offenses, bank robbery and conspiracy to commit those offenses, as well as international extradition.
She works both in the Eastern and Middle Districts of North Carolina and handles federal criminal appeals to the Fourth Circuit and U.S. Supreme Court.
Ms. Araneda’s immigration law experience of more than 21 years make her uniquely qualified to represent non-U.S. citizens charged with a federal crime. She is retained by other federal criminal defense attorneys as a consultant to determine the potential immigration consequences of a conviction. Non-U.S. citizens are at risk of losing their status if convicted of certain crimes, even if they hold permanent resident status (the “green card”).
